“Mukufuda” joins two Japanese words: muku (無垢), solid unjointed wood, and fuda (札), a small wooden tag.

About Materials
Keyaki"Keyaki — Japanese Zelkova"
A symbol of strength in Japanese architecture, Keyaki has been used for centuries in temples, shrines, and fine furniture. Its bold, sweeping grain patterns and warm golden-brown tones give each piece a distinctive character — a hardwood that tells a story through its natural texture.
Sakura"Yamazakura — Japanese Cherry"
Inspired by Japan's beloved cherry blossom, Sakura wood brings warmth and refinement to every piece. Its rich reddish-brown tone deepens beautifully with age, while the smooth, fine texture makes it ideal for engraving, resulting in a clean and elegant finish.
Surface Finish
Naguri"Naguri"
Inspired by the traditional naguri technique, the surface features a smooth, flowing texture. The interplay of natural wood grain and gentle undulations gives each piece a quiet, organic depth.
Ishigaki"Ishigaki"
A carved pattern inspired by traditional Japanese stone walls. The geometric texture adds a refined, architectural character to the wood surface.

Top: Zelkova / Bottom: Cherry
Laser"Laser"
By irradiating laser light, the surface of the wood is scorched to engrave letters and illustrations. The natural texture of the charring and engraving shadows creates a warm finish.
Black Paint"Black Paint"
Matte black paint is applied to the laser-engraved area, enhancing contrast and making the letters stand out clearly with high visibility.
White Paint"White Paint"
Similarly, matte white paint is applied to the laser-engraved area. The white on Yamazakura creates a modern and elegant finish.

About Finish
All products are finished with a liquid glass coating — an inorganic silica-based treatment that penetrates deep into the wood fibers and cures to form a durable, breathable shield. Unlike conventional varnishes or urethane finishes that sit on the surface, this coating bonds at the molecular level, delivering exceptional weather resistance without masking the natural character of the wood.

Shipped via Japan Post International Air Packet (tracked airmail, formerly International ePacket Light).
We ship to East Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania & the Middle East, and North America. We currently do not ship to Europe or the UK.
This product weighs between 300g and 600g depending on material and accessories. Exact shipping cost is calculated at checkout.

- Each name tag is custom-engraved with your name. Due to its one-of-a-kind nature, cancellations cannot be accepted once production has begun.
- As each piece is handcrafted, slight dimensional variations may occur.
- All option and fee prices include Japanese consumption tax where applicable. Import duties and taxes charged by the destination country are not included.
